Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information WorthTheBite collects, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
WorthTheBite does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the platform. When you submit a rating, we collect only the information you voluntarily provide: the restaurant name, dish name, rating, and optional location (city and region/state/province). We do not collect your name, email address, or any other identifying information.
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site, such as which pages are viewed and general traffic patterns. Google Analytics may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited. This information is used to improve the platform and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
The information you submit (restaurant name, dish, rating, location) is used to display community ratings on the platform. Since this submitted content is not linked to your name, email, or any personal identity, WorthTheBite may also use, aggregate, and license this content — including to third parties such as restaurant platforms, delivery services, search engines, or data partners — as described in our Terms of Service. We do not sell or share any personally identifying information about you, because we do not collect any.
WorthTheBite uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to help us understand site usage (for example, distinguishing new visitors from returning ones). We also use Google reCAPTCHA to help protect the site from spam and automated abuse, which may set its own cookies. We do not use advertising or ad-retargeting cookies, and WorthTheBite does not run or serve ads.
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
Firebase (Google) — for database storage, website hosting, and user authentication for our admin panel. Your submitted reviews are stored on Firebase's servers. Firebase's privacy practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Google Analytics — used to understand site traffic and usage patterns. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Google reCAPTCHA — used to verify that submissions come from real visitors rather than automated bots, helping keep our data accurate. This site is protected by reCAPTCHA, and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
EmailJS — used to send internal notification emails when a new review is submitted. No user data is stored by EmailJS beyond what is necessary to deliver the notification.
Submitted reviews are stored indefinitely to maintain the usefulness of the platform. Since reviews are not linked to any personal account or identity, there is no personal data to delete. If you believe a specific submission contains personal information you would like removed, please contact us.
WorthTheBite is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our platform, please contact us and we will promptly address it.
If you are located in the European Union or California, you may have additional rights regarding your personal data. Since WorthTheBite does not collect personally identifiable information from users, most of these rights are not applicable in practice. However, if you have any privacy-related concerns, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
